👥 Whom I Help

I work with women and professionals navigating:

Depression – When energy fades, joy disappears, and life starts feeling like one long list of obligations.

Anxiety – Worry, irritability, and sleepless nights make it hard to breathe, rest, or think clearly.

Trauma & PTSD – When past experiences replay in the present, making it hard to trust, relax, or feel at home in your own body.

Insomnia & Nightmares – Your mind won’t rest, no matter how exhausted you are — even sleep can feel unsafe.

Burnout & Emotional Exhaustion – When success looks good on the outside, but inside you feel numb, overwhelmed, or ready to give up.

These challenges often overlap — and healing happens when we start addressing the whole picture, not just the symptoms.

🧘‍♀️ Treatment Approach

I believe healing begins when you feel seen, understood, and no longer alone in what you’re carrying.

Together, we’ll combine psychiatric expertise, therapy, and integrative care — looking at your physical health, emotional patterns, and day-to-day stressors, because each piece matters. Sometimes that includes medication, supplements, or brain-based tools like Brainspotting; other times it’s about boundaries, rest, or rediscovering what gives your life meaning.

The goal isn’t just fewer symptoms, but greater calm, confidence, and clarity — the sense that you’re back in the driver’s seat of your own mind.

There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.

✉️ Your Next Step

You don’t need to have everything figured out — you just need a place to start.

When you fill out the online form, I’ll personally reach out to schedule a free, 15-minute conversation. This isn’t an intake or a commitment — it’s a relaxed, no-pressure call where you can share what’s been happening, ask questions, and see if working together feels like a mutual fit.

Sometimes that first conversation is the moment people finally exhale — realizing they don’t have to carry everything alone anymore.

I’m Bob Born, a Psychiatric Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist with a heart for healing and a passion for psychiatry. My journey in mental health began at the University of Missouri-Columbia, where I earned both my Bachelor and Master degrees in Nursing, specializing in psychiatric care. I am board-certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and have dedicated near three decades to understanding and treating the complexity of depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, various sleep disorders and ADHD.

My professional path is diverse, having served in the National Health Service Corp, worked alongside esteemed psychiatrists, and supported individuals across various settings - from crisis centers to the Sedgwick County Adult Detention Facility. Each experience has deeply enriched my approach, teaching me the resilience of the human spirit and the transformative power of empathetic, holistic care.

My personal goal is to provide exceptional top-tier care. I can’t call my service concierge, but it is very close. I bring a wealth of insight and sensitivity to my practice, allowing me to deliver a broad spectrum of care, from preventive health measures to the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic conditions.

Are you struggling with. . .

Depression

  • Feeling guilty and have difficulty finding joy in things you used to enjoy.

  • Losing the joy in activities that once lit up your day.

  • Feeling exhausted, no motivation and ready to surrender to life's relentless pace.

  • Dragging around past baggage that whispers you're not cut out for the good stuff.

Anxiety

  • That ominous gut feeling that the next email might be the one to push you over the edge.

  • Easily irritated and annoyed and slow to catch a peaceful night's sleep.

  • Decisions as simple as choosing between Tide Ultra or Tide Oxi, pushing you towards a mini-meltdown.

  • Gripped by a constant sense that something is about to go wrong.

PTSD

  • It’s hard to trust anyone, even close friends and family.

  • Constantly on edge and hyper-vigilant. It’s exhausting and disruptive.

  • Haunted by past traumas, low self-esteem, and doubts of my worthiness or happiness.

  • Feeling emotional numbness and struggling to connect with my feelings and those of others.

ADHD

  • Juggling family tasks and schedules, feeling more scatterbrained than organized.

  • High-achieving parent but struggling to remember if your kid likes soccer or hates it.

  • Perfectionist or procrastinator? Either way, always playing catch-up.

  • Keeping your head above water, yet too exhausted to enjoy life's moments (this symptom can be related to the executive function challenges seen in ADHD).

“My experience with Mr. Born has been wonderful. In a matter of a couple months, I’ve had more progress with him than I’ve had in years of seeing other practices. He’s forthright, thorough, respectful, kind, and has such a keen and astute sense of observation that helped me feel seen in a way I have not felt before. I am thankful for my time with him and will wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone seeking mental health services in the area.”

Bob is amazing! I have been seeing him for two years now, and he always makes me feel like a person, not a paycheck! He takes the time (and I can’t stress that enough) to listen, ask me how I’m doing/feeling, and even offers suggestions, tips, and recommendations to help! He genuinely cares for my well being, and is adamant about including me in the treatment process, which I love! I would highly recommend Mental Health Medication Services!

I have been seeing Bob for probably about a year or so now. I absolutely can not imagine going anywhere else!! Unfortunately, I’ve visited my fair share of psychiatrists, via private practices and hospitals. But Bob takes the cake by far!!. First, he helped me do some DNA testing to find out which medications where probably better for me according to my personal mental health. He found out that a medication that I’ve taken for several years was probably not compatible with my DNA… he checked until he found something that had a higher probability of effectiveness! And slowly but surely, I’m getting there!! Not only was he genuinely trying to help me from the very start, but he continues to try to help me progress consistently. He always has words of wisdom and keeps up “with the times” and latest research. He truly is very caring and sincere and shows that he’s in it for his patients and not just a paycheck!! He always takes time to listen about anything and everything… He genuinely listens and helps me work through whatever is going on. He really is just an all-around great person!

AT THE HEART OF MY WORK

Every story I hear is different — but what never changes is the process of healing. It begins with the power of being… seen, heard and understood; in an atmosphere of honesty and compassion.

Healing isn’t about becoming someone new; it’s about reconnecting with parts of yourself that have been buried under stress, trauma, and living under the expectations of others. Together, we uncover what has been lost — the calm, the confidence, the intelligence, and the meaning of who you really are.

If you’re ready to take that first step, I’ll meet you there — with expertise, clarity, no judgment, and a deep respect that every healing journey deserves.
